Think Pools Are Clean? Think Again
Recently, the CDC has come out with a new study analyzing the water in many different public pools. The CDC found that 79% of the pools were breaking at least one health law. Many of the pools had higher levels of chemicals than is safe, unsafe equipment, and bad pH levels. One of the most disturbing parts of the study was the way that chlorine binds to sweat and urine. It’s actually not the chlorine in the pool that burns your eyes, it’s the sweat and the urine. If you want to make sure your public pool is safe, you can bring your own pH kits and do a test. You should also be sure that you can see the drain at the bottom of the pool.
