Your Favorite Drink Might Be Dangerous
Is Aloe Vera juice healthy?
Yes, and no. There are benefits and risks to drinking aloe vera juice. It has been a very trendy drink lately. It’s full of vitamins that can boost your skins appearance. Many celebrities, like Gwyneth Paltrow have claimed that it’s helped their skin. The proof is purely anecdotal, and there are no scientific studies backing the claim that it is good for your skin. Another benefit can be from the anti-inflammatory qualities of the juice, soothing to irritable bowel syndrome. It has been suggested that the juice can line the digestive tract. On the flip side, there is a risk of diarrhea associated with aloe vera juice. It is a natural laxative, and over doing it could become problematic to your digestive system. That is not speculation or anecdotal. So it’s ok to take every once in awhile but definitely don’t drink tons of it on a regular basis. Also, it isn’t like drinking orange juice. Check with your doctor and make sure it doesn’t react adversely to any prescription or over-the-counter medications you are taking. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
